Empowering children and young women through inclusive, community-driven quality education.
Somero Development Initiative supports children, adolescents and young women to access quality education, remain in learning, and build practical skills for life and work. Our approach combines early childhood development, foundational literacy and numeracy, scholarships, community-led learning, child protection, gender-responsive education, and vocational and digital skills.
We work with learners, parents, young fathers, schools, community facilitators and local leaders to reduce the barriers that push children and young women out of education. Alongside classroom and study support, our programs create safe learning spaces, strengthen family involvement, promote learning through play, and connect education with livelihood opportunities.
